CUET UG 2025: Registration will soon start for the CUET UG examination 2025 on the official website of NTA. National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the online CUET application form in the second week of february. Candidates can apply by going online and filling out the CUET application form. An application fee of Rs. 800/- to Rs. 1000/- will be paid during the online application. Last date for 2025 CUET registration is 26 March 2025*.

CUET UG is an objective type exam. Candidates have to appear in two types of CUET examination. A General Paper which tests their aptitude and logical reasoning and subject specific papers. Students can choose up to 6 different subjects to apply for CUET UG 2025.  It follows a negative marking evaluation system which involves deducting “1 mark” for every wrong answer.

What is CUET UG?

Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate (CUET) is a central university entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) of India. Central Universities use the scores in this test to shortlist candidates for admissions in various bachelor’s level degrees like BA, BSc, BCom, BioTech etc. This exam is also known as Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). CUET UG registration process opens in second week of February*. Applications for CUET UG are accepted by NTA only in online mode

Students can apply for 6 different papers in the 2025 CUET UG paper. At least one of those subjects must be a language. Each paper will have 50 questions out of which 40 questions need to be answered

To apply for CUET UG, candidates register themselves on an online portal. After that the online CUET application form can be completed. Candidates will have to submit an application fee while submitting the application form online. Depending on the number of candidates CUET 2025 will be conducted in 2 to 3 shifts.

CUET UG Eligibility

NTA allows candidates of every age group to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate courses. A candidate must have a 12th or equivalent pass for the CUET paper. These 12th equivalent degrees may be from any state or national board. 

State educational boards like Bihar Board, Delhi Board, UP Board, Uttarakhand Board, Maharashtra Boards, etc are allowed. Similarly, candidates with CBSE, ICSE, NIOS qualification can apply online. Central Universities also allow admissions with an AICTE certified diploma. Applicants meeting the CUET eligibility criteria can apply online on the NTA web portal.

CUET UG Online Application Process

Step 1: Visit the NTA UG web portal.

Step 2: Click on the “CUET UG” bulletin shown on the website.

Step 3: Link for CUET “New registration” is available on the left side of the screen. Open the link.

Step 4: Start filling the registration form.

Step 5: Application number will be created after submitting the form. Create a password when the option appears.

Step 6: Click on submit and login to the NTA application portal with the new password and application number.

Step 7: Open the application form on the CUET login portal.

Step 8: Fill the CUET UG application form.

Step 9: Upload the documents for address, category, and educational proofs.

Step 10: Pay the UG CUET application fee. Use online methods supported by the CUET fee portal.

Step 11: Submit the CUET UG 2025 application.

CUET UG Fee Structure

To apply for undergraduate entrance examinations for central university Indian applicants need to pay an application fee between ₹ 800/- to ₹ 1,000/- for 3 subjects. Applying for more than 3 UG subjects has an additional fee of ₹ 350/- to ₹ 400/- per subject. This fee only applies to candidates applying for centers in India. If candidates are applying for the UG courses entrance at a centre outside India this fee rises to ₹ 4,500/- for 3 subjects. In that case additional charges for more than 3 subjects is ₹ 1,800/- per subject. 

Application fees for the common university entrance test can only be paid online. NTA (National Testing Agency) accepts no other mode of payment. This is done to keep the application and fee payment procedure transparent. 

CUET candidates are provided online receipts for every transaction they make to NTA. These fee receipts can also be downloaded as PDFs. This way applicants can have a record of every payment made at one place and they can use these fee receipts to raise complaints and grievances in future if need arises.

CUET Admit Card

NTA releases the admit card for students on the official website @exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG. Admit cards are released around 2 weeks before the examination date. Students can go to the NTA website and download the CUET UG admit card PDF. 

A printed form of admit card must be produced at the examination centre. In case students find any mistake in their admit card, they can contact the NTA helpline during the working hours of 10 Am to 5 Pm.

Step 1: Visit the NTA official website. @exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG

Step 2: On the homepage click on the advertisement for admit card.

Step 3: Admit card portal will open up.

Step 4: Enter the date of birth and application number.

Step 5: If an admit card is available for the given application number it will show on the screen.

Step 6: Download the CUET admit card in PDF format.

CUET UG Result

Results are released aroung 1 month after the CUET exam. Candidates get their result card online on the CUET login protal on the official NTA website. To view their result can go to the official website of NTA. Candidates need their application number and date of birth to view their result.

Applicants may get their result canceled. Candidates using unfair means of cheating will not be provided their result. Their CUET UG 2025 result portal will show “Result Canceled” for the 2025 session.

CUET Counselling

NTA conducts online counselling sessions after the CUET UG results are announced. In this process candidates are evaluated on the basis of their rank and resume. An online counselling portal is provided for candidates to visit and apply for their chosen Universities. 

This process is conducted on the counselling portal of NTA. It opens once the CUET results are released. Students need to login with their application number and fill up the result details to participate in the online CUET UG online counselling.

While filling up the CUET application form candidates select the universities they are interested in. During the counselling process universities choose candidates based on their marks. Universities decide on their cutoff marks and if candidates clear the cutoff marks of the university, they are given the chance to join their preferred course.

CUET CUTOFF

Minimum marks that are needed for admission in a university are called the cutoff marks of that university. Universities release different cutoff marks for different subjects. Candidates can encounter cutoff marks anywhere from 80 percentile to 97 percentile.

CUET UG 2025 Syllabus

Syllabus for all the courses listed for CUET UG paper is available for candidates to download. There are 2 types of papers that CUET applicants appear for. General paper and subject specific paper. 

General Paper is the test of aptitude and logical reasoning of the candidate. Questions that test the comprehension level, pattern recognition, and basic logical mathematical reasoning are asked in the general paper. While the subject specific paper has a syllabus dedicated to a specific subject. This depends on the subject chosen by candidates for CUET Undergraduate paper 2025.
